EDSS Rails and Frog Inserts

The Wedge Rails are a hard plastic, wedge shaped molded piece that attaches to the shoe. The stabilizing peg and attachment hole are used to fasten the Rails to the pre-drilled EDSS Shoes. There are a total of 12 Rails (3 elevations) plus attachment bolts, included in the system, and again, adjustments can be made without removing the shoe. The rails are used to adjust the tension on the deep digital flexor tendon. The placement of the rails will also allow the horse easier lateral breakover which will make turning much more pain free.

The Frog Inserts are hard plastic, frog shaped wedge pieces. There are a total of 12 pieces (6 elevations) plus screws to attach them to the EDSS pad included in the system. Adjustments with Frog Inserts can be made without removing the shoe. These inserts are used to transfer weight bearing support to the caudal portion of the foot. Frog Insert in conjunction with the Impression Material allow for loading of the frog and increasing blood circulation for optimal healing.
